The strange things that cats eat

I was eating a banana this morning and my 12 week kitten Maggie sniffed and and decided that this was something good to eat. She started chewing on it, so I started giving her bits. We had another cat that was a generic eater: eating crackers and other stuff. Evidently he had been found near a dumpster as a kitten, surviving on whatever he could find.
I am very particular about what I feed my cats: I have only fed them Costco/Kirkland brand since I have owned kittens. Their coats are shiny and they don't bark their food up all over the place. But I still feed them bits of meat off the table and there is nothing better for a teething baby that a fat steak bone.
